MY STORY

The Creator of StoryOfSurvival.com

I am not a cancer survivor, I don’t have cancer, but cancer runs in my family and I faced the truth about this tragic disease when I was a very young child. My grandmother was in her early 50’s when she was diagnosed with a stage 4 breast cancer. At the gentle age of 58 she lost her fight.

Our family has a very tight relationship and the loss of my grandmother was a huge tragedy for everyone, especially my mother. The grief of my mother affected me the most at such a young age. She got very ill after the loss of her mother. She was terrified that she was going to get cancer as well. When my Mom turned 50 she was diagnosed with the same stage 4 breast cancer.

After surgery and chemotherapy, there was hope of a cancer cure. We found a doctor, not a medical one, but a scientist who was doing research in the field of alternative cancer treatment. At that time I didn’t go into great details of what he did and how he did it, I just wanted him to give my mom a chance and try his course of treatment, and she went through it.

She was cancer free for 5 good years, but it came back, and the “mad scientist” wasn’t around any more. This time, cancer progressed from the breast to ovary, and was at a very advanced stage. Chemo-therapy and radiation totally destroyed whatever health my Mom had left. At age 58, she lost her fight with cancer. It was over 10 years ago.

MY DEVOTED COMMITMENT

Ever since these two tragic losses happened, I devoted my life to research everything I can on earth about cancer. Through the years, things have changed. With the readily available information online, my research about cancer is almost complete. Because of this, I strongly believe that people have much better chances to fight cancer and win the battle. All we need in order to succeed in this kind of battleground is to have faith and hope.
