Any meal ideas for someone who was diagnosed with stomach cancer?

My grandfather was just diagnosed with stomach cancer and is having a hard time getting more than 600cal/day because of high stomach acidity, bloatedness and abdominal pain. Anybody have any ideas for meals that are high-cal but easy to digest. Thanks

I would be asking his Dr. this question….he should know the answer. You wouldn’t want to feed him something that makes him in more pain. Have they suggested tube feeding him, so he gets the nutrients and calories he needs??? I would be asking the Dr. about this. Otherwise he could starve to death, by lack of food. I’d be all over the Dr. if it were my grandpa. Good Luck~

Hi my name is Naomi Poland,
I am only 34,although I have never had stomache cancer I believe my experience might help a little.
I am a Pole Dance teacher, 2years ago I survived Pancreatic Cancer, they believe I had had the cancer since before my 10th birthday, I had a whipples Proceedure to save my life.
This means I have only half a stomache(placed on side of bowel), the tale section of pancreas(not diabetic, head/digestive bit is gone and can no longer digest fats and proteins without a digestive enzigme), no gallbladder, no appendix, bowl pulled forward ahead of stomache t reattach pancreas tale and liver and lots of arterial micro surgery.
I had lots of trouble fattening up, its now been two years since op. And I have found that I have to make sure there are plenty of natural enzymes in digestive tract, stay away from processed anything, always have something handy to nibble on…small meals all the time. It will not happen overnight but the body will adjust.
My diet mainly consists of fruits, Vegies and meat with every meal to keep my muscles healthy. I am a very Slim/Lean person, but its the meat thats helps keep my weight on as I just seem to melt fat very easily. I love lots of cream with tin od fresh fruit and roast dinners sit in my tummy the best.
    Cheers Naomi
