Mrs. Ibanez volunteered to help at a hospital for children with cancer. When she first entered the cancer ward, she was upset by the fact that most of the children had no hair. What is the explanation for their baldness?

    Chemotherapy. The treatment of chemo and radiation kills hair follicles.

    Chemo attacks the fastest growing cells. Hair and cancer cells both grow fast.
