Breast Cancer history + birth control = bad?

My mom died of breast cancer, and I think my grandma did too, but I’m not sure about her. My question is: since my family has a history of breast cancer, would it be safe for me to take the birth control pill? What are the risks? The one the clinic gave me is Cyclessa. I know the clinic wouldn’t have given me the pill if it wasn’t somewhat safe, but for some reason I don’t trust them completely yet. It’s just a gut feeling. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated with some facts backing them up. I feel dumb not asking the doctors about this before I left =/

And I’m 18 if that makes any difference.

Birth control pills don’t increase the risk of cancer. I have breast cancer in my family, also, but I’ve had no problems on the pill.
