Can radiation cause microcalcifiations and can they be cancer?
->
I just finished radiation in August and am now taking Tamoxifen. After my 1st follow up mammagram, I have newley developed micro’s in the same breast, supiciuos and worrisome is what the report read. I had a biopsy yesterday, What are the chances of cancer being back in the same breast, this soon?

well wat radiation do is it simply destroy the cells where they fall…..so both normal cells as well as remaining cancers r destroyed but since normal cell got normal DNA so they can grow back soon contrary 2 cancer cells whose DNA r not normal…….thats the story behind……….it is mainly chemotherapy which causes the calcification……..chances of cancer coming back depends on stage at which treatment started……but hope 4 the best and b in touch with ur doctor…..hopefully everything ll b fine……….all the best
