The two HPV preventative vaccines are in a series of 3 injections.

Once you have engaged in sex then you may have already been exposed to an HPV type. Many men and women carry an HPV with no signs or symptomes. Routine Pap testing will help your doctor see abnormal cell changes before they have a chance to progress.

Check with your insurance and make sure the vaccine is covered at 100%. Some clinics do give the vaccine…the price of the vaccine will be determined on how your state covers this vaccine.

Gardasil and Cervarix prevents two high risk HPV types 16 and 18. They are over 13 high risk HPV types. The vaccine does not prevent all HPV types that cause cervical cancer. The vaccine does not prevent all genital HPV types.

The vaccine does have some pros and cons…read up on these side effects so that you can answer the question is the vaccine right for you.
