Can you have s e x when you have cancer and still not spread any infections or chemo to your spouse? What if?

you cut yourself and your spouse cleans up the blood if he or she gets it in their open wound will it cause them to be infected with cancer?

Cancer is not an infectious disease.

im not sure bout the sex but for the cut it depends if its a blood cancer like leukemia but if its another cancer its not likely and with the chemo i think it depends how long after u were treated.

The answer to the blood infecting your spouse with cancer is no. Now the sex question, it would be best to use a condom during chemo, not to stop the spread of cancer, but to protect the female from pregnancy during the medications. Your partner may also have an allergic reaction to the meds. Some types of chemotherapy can lead to changes in the lining of the vagina, which may make vaginal injuries more likely during intercourse. Other types of chemotherapy — such as high-dose chemotherapy after a bone marrow or stem cell transplant — may weaken the immune system to the point that sex isn’t a good idea. During sex, normal bacteria that live on the skin or in the genital tract may be introduced into your bloodstream. If your immune system is weak, your body may not be protected from these bacteria.

i have had sex with a person who was going through chemo and we didnt have a problem. but it wasnt a blood cancer either. you can call and ask a pharmacist or call an emergency room hosp and ask to talk to a doctor and tell them what its about so they dont running like wildcats. i just dont see how cancer is spread like that. here is a link you can ask for free and get all sorts of questions answered. they are really good here.
