Cancer fears – can the Doctor refuse to refer me for private treatment?
If I have breast concerns and have done so for a year but my Doctor won’t refer me to the breast clinic can I pay to have a biopsy/mammogram privately – do I have that option? or can the Doctor refuse to refer me for a private biopsy/mammogram/specialist?
PLEASE HELP xx
Denisedds – is this the case in the UK? Oh I do hope so…
You can walk into any breast clinic in the country and request a mammogram without a doctor if you are old enough and have the money.
Chances are there is no concern if you have been to your doctor and he or she has not ordered any tests.
I am referring to the US I know next to nothing about the UK healthcare system.
