The levels of radiation plumes that will hit the US from Japan won't cause immediate death, but cancer instead?

Is that accurate? These experts say that they do not "expect significant radiation to hit the US". That’s pretty subjective. Maybe the levels won’t be "significant" enough to cause acute radiation sickness, but perhaps will affect long term health?

Chemo and Prostrate Cancer ? Will it help?

My Granddaddy was treated for prostrate cancer with radiation beads about 2 years ago. We found out yesterday that his cancer is back with PSI level at 36. The doctor said he has to have chemo this time. He is 82. Will this chemo help? How will it effect my Granddaddy? What can I do?

PLEASE HELP my cat has a rare aggressive cancer?

My cat Evie had what we thought was hemobart two weeks ago, but didn’t respond to therapy. She was anemic and weak, not really eating. I took her to Tufts University (Foster Clinic) on Sunday and they told me she has a rare aggressive cancer. I can’t really make out just what it is, but she has chylous effusion in her abdomen (fluid), mesenteric nodules (tumors in her intestinal tissues) and "increased mesenteric/ileocolic/jejunal LNs". I’m not sure what the diagnosis is, but they don’t believe its lymphosarcoma. The report says its probably a highly aggressive form of carcinomatosis. She had a blood transfusion, but is too weak for a biopsy. They suggested I just take her home and keep her on prednisilone until she’s ready to die. How can I be sure it’s really cancer? Could it be anything else? She doesn’t have a fever. She is slipping so fast I don’t know what to do. I’ve been feeding her straight chicken baby food and giving her syringes of water, but she’s not eating now (she ate last night). What else could it be? I’m so afraid the prednisilone will make anything else WORSE. Why why would my little Evie get so sick?
