Could exposure to radiation cause cancer years later?

How many years later?

What kind of cancer would be likely?

It takes a lot of radiation and it takes 15-20 years.
The most common type is thyroid cancer.

It depends on the exposure period on how many years. Usually not for awhile.
    Cancer, I’m guessing skin cancer

I recently had a large area of basal cell skin cancer removed that my dermatologist told me was probably caused by radiation treatments I had 20 years earlier. I’ve also had other side effects from the radiation.
