Does chemo cure cancer?

Ok so it’s meant to, or at least help, but does anyone have any studies that actually show it is beneficial? All I have seen is people get incredibly sick from it. How do we know they wouldn’t have survived as long without the chemo? And probably less ill aswell without chemo. And chemo actually kills some people! Who came up with the idea that it’d be good to pump the body full of toxic POISON to cure a person of cancer?
Marc-why doesn’t it work half the time then…Einstein? I don’t call that a cure.
And why do you have to be so rude, I’m just asking a perfectly valid question. Maybe you just got lucky.
"We don’t even know what causes cancer." Lol I rest my case! If you don’t know what causes it how can you know what cures it? Yes chemo might extend your life by a few months but it means living with what chemo does to you. Plus chances are, if the cancer was caught early enough it could just be removed and you wouldn’t even need to have chemo in the first place.
No I haven’t had cancer YET-just nearly my whole family, and I’m sorry I’m a little upset that so many of my family have died of it because either the doctors were too incompetent to diagnose it early enough, or the treatment didn’t work. As for when I do get cancer (most likely given how most of my family have) I will NOT be putting my body through that treatment just to buy me a couple more months of complete misery. If you guys wanna poison yourself go right ahead. I’d rather die.
75% of physicians refuse chemo on themselves! Link to what they say about it- http://www.curenaturalicancro.com/2-physicians-refuse-chemo.html

You have a very narrow and ignorant view of cancer and how it is treated. Every single drug used has studies showing their benefit and amazingly enough they also include people receiving a placebo. This is the point of evidence based medicine. When you say it doesn’t “work” half the time what do you mean? If you mean cured than you’re correct chemo doesn’t cure cancer half the time, but the patient is well aware of this going in if that is the case. With some cancers such as testicular cancer they are cured with chemo in about 75% of the cases. We don’t even know what causes cancer.

it basically kills the cancer cells but also kills some normal cells but yes it will cure certain kinds but it can still come back later.

The scientists who first observed that cancer cells have a FAR higher metabolic rate than "regular" cells did….they figured that being the case, if you administered a "controlled rate of poisoning" to the cancer patient, their cancerous cells would metabolize the poison WAY faster than the normal cells, so that the cancer cells would be poisoned and die, whereas the rest of the patient’s cells would just get really sick…THAT’S HOW CHEMO WORKS, Einstein!

There are hundreds of different drugs in use as "chemotherapy" These drugs are typically administered as a "cocktail" and typically include 3-5 agents each with their own benefits/ harms.I have great respect for the chemo pharmacists who have to balance all of the factors and then take into account your body and weight etc. and make it all come out to be a benefit instead of a detriment You obviously have never worn the shoes of a person with cancer, it is allot easier to be speculative, crass and condemning when your life is not on the line! I am alive today as a result of having had chemo for my late stage lymphoma I was only 28 when I was diagnosed and the chemo has now given me 13 yrs and counting.

While I am full well aware that cancer medicine is very well researched, I have no idea where your figures come from. Where did you get the ‘half’ from? Do you have real statistics or are they a figment? Also, how many do you actually know that get incredibly sick? My figures have it that only a small percentage have severe reactions.

By the way. I will ask my Doctor tomorrow about this. I am going in to see him.
