Does radiation treatment helps to get rid of the cancer cells left over in your body?

Also I would really appreciate it alot if someone can explain to me what is the purpose of having an MRI?

yes the usual course is chemotherapy followed by radiation if necessary.

the purpose of having an mri is to provide doctors with a multi image veiw of the body part that the mri is performed on.
this helps direct the doctors to follow the proper course of treatment!

Left over from what? Surgery? Radiation is a common treatment that follows surgery for cancer in a particular area. And yes, it is used to kill possible cancer cells "left over" in that area.
