Does the radiation emitted from Electric Cars greatly increase a person's risk of getting cancer?
->
I read somewhere that there were safety concerns with the radiation levels emitted by the gas/electric hybrids currently on the market. And now there’s this big emphasis on all-electric cars (like the Nissan Leaf and Chevy Volt).
But do these electric cars increase cancer risk from the radiation emissions?

The only thing in the " gas/electric hybreds" is the alternator/generator on any car.
the rest is ran off of DC voltage, The motors that run the wheels, are DC, but are also magneticly shielded. shielding prevents the escape of the magnetic fields, and condenses the magnetic field inside the motor.
The chance of getting Cancer from this, is none. These motors have to be sealed from the elements. and in doing so. they emit, baby amounts of outside magnetic fields,
you have more of a chance, getting cancer from a leaky microwave oven than these motors.
hope this helps you
PSSSST! I have a secret…
EVERYTHING causes cancer these days.
Not greatly enough to put your immediate health at risk. You’d have to be in the center of a circle made by 7-8 of these cars and sit there for days on end with the cars running all of their systems to even feel a tingle.
If it emits high levels of radiation, they wouldn’t put it on the market. It’s probably something spread by a gas company to stop the selling of electrical vehicles. Don’t worry. And thank you for not spreading it and coming here to find out on your own.
Depends. Where any form of magnetic fields would come is with high voltage AC current where as the batteries on an electric car are DC.
