Food for people w/cancer that are going through radiation?
->
so, those who know anything about radiation…..it gives you diarrhea.
what are good foods to eat that don’t make you go to the bathroom? or at least don’t make you go to the bathroom don’t so much.

It didn’t give me diarrhea and I ate whatever I wanted. Many foods don’t taste good because the mouth gets a metallic taste. I drank plenty of fruit juices and clear soups…and peppermints.
Emmy’s answer reminded me…I loved salt and vinegar chips! Can’t stand them now.
It depends on what areas are receiving radiation treatment, if the patient will get diarrhea. I had no problem with radiation, except that food tasted metallic (like I was chewing aluminum foil). I did have problems with chemo.
Foods won’t stop the diarrhea but some foods are easier to digest and taste like they are supposed to. I found eggs, potatoes and pasta the easiest to eat.
A friend of mine had cancer when she was little. She told me that BBQ chips were the only ones she could taste.
Do a Google search with these three words in the search box; nutrition radiation therapy
You will find lots of suggestions. Your body needs super nourishment to recover from radition treatment. A regular diet isn’t enough. Supplements and fresh live foods will help restore what the radiation is taking out of it.
Bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast…
And also those fiber supplements (NOT laxatives! Stuff like Metamucil.) they sell at the pharmacy can help with that.
