I work in a cancer clinic. Everyday I meet people who receive a diagnosis and the chipping away at their savings and assets begins. Many think their insurance is better than what it truly is.
Do you think enough Americans will ever really understand that statement. " One diagnosis away from losing everything".

Of course we do. It is just that some of us are more afraid of being one government entitlement program away from losing everything we have worked for. Some of us are afraid of giving another 20 percent to the government so they can care for us and those who refuse to care for themselves. Why do Americans believe that they should never have to suffer a loss.
If I know america, no.
I have NO savings and have had breast cancer…..I haven’t been checked in 4 years because regardless of a FREE mammogram, I can’t afford the thousands and thousands it costs (with or without insurance) for treatment. We already lost our house the first time — now we’re renting and will never be able to own again………not doing that to my family again!! I’ll die first. People have no idea!!!! Besides, after losing a home and renting now, the only NEXT option is on the street and that isn’t going to happen either. I’ve worked too hard all my life to get to that point……
if i have insurance there will be no need to chip away from my savings, but if i am on Government insurance via medi-cade there will be the chipping away,…..
