How can I get a wig made of my hair so that my aunt that has cancer can have it?
->
I know that some people who have lost their hair to chemo/cancer have grown out their hair before treatment so that they could get a wig made of their own hair for themselves later. How can I get this done, so that I can give my hair to my aunt?
I ONLY am seeking answers for making MY hair into a wig FOR MY AUNT and ONLY HER with MY HAIR.

If you have enough amount of hair then you can have it done but keep in mind that to make cancer wigs it is necessary to have at least the double amount of hair that a regular head has because at least the half is lost in the process. I did the same thing using my own hair and added same equal amount from somebody else hair, Rodolfo Valentin the designer of the first cancer wigs in the world can do that for you.
It takes the hair from about 10 people to make an adult wig.
You could certainly contribute but the hair needs to be cut in a certain way so that the piece is at least 10 inches long and it can never have been subject to bleaching.
find your local human hair wig shop and consult them.usually ,the human hair wig is made by human hair and lace cap.you could ask them use your human hair to tied which you supplied.
Hi I had a custom "wig made with my own hair" by Wiggin Out Custom Wig Shop in Orange County, CA. I am from Palm Beach Florida and I was worried about cutting off my long hair and having a wig made so I did extensive search on wig shops that make wigs from my own hair. After several phone calls and emails I chose Wiggin Out in Newport Beach, CA http://www.wigginoutsalons.com or http://www.wiggin-out.com 877 769-9447 They had actual images of before and after photos of wigs that the clients used their own hair to make their wigs look just like their own hair. They also set up a phone call where I was fortunate enough to speak with an actual client that had a custom wig made with their own hair. My wig is really similar to the "Gripper Wig" but my wig was made way before Follea ever came out with the Gripper wig cap design. The owner has 20 something years experience making wigs and has some crazy far out cap designs that you can choose from. They will cut your hair off in tiny sections or you can just send them your hair and your photos so they can make the wig look just like the way you want it. Anyway, they guaranteed that if i didnt love my wig they would remake it at their cost. Well, I loved it, it was 3 inches shorter but they sure got it right. I still wear the wig, it still looks beautiful. Good Luck! oh…you have to be careful of other wig companies that promise to make a wig with your hair. They send the wigs off to China or some other country and people have claimed that the wig sent back was "not even their own hair". At least Wiggin Out Wigs guarantees their wigs.
By the way. They used all my hair in making my wig plus I was able to pick one extra ponytail to add to it. So it did NOT take 10 ponytails to make one wig! That would be one very hairy wig if that was the case. LOL

Go to the "LocksOfLove" website and follow the instructions for donating hair if thats what you want to do. They may also be able to help you find a wig for your aunt. They make the wigs for kids with cancer but I’m sure they can find someone that makes them for the adults. Good Luck.

There are many sources for your aunt to get a wig of her choosing. I went through chemo and got a wig from a wig store. They are available in human hair, high quality synthetic, or cheapy synthetic. If you had more than 10" to cut off, it can be given to Locks of Love and they will make a wig, but I don’t know if you can customize it to be only your aunt’s. It might be more of a charity organization that produces them and gives them away to anyone who needs one. Also, there may not be time enough to grow enough hair. Once chemo starts, hair falls out in about 2 weeks.
