How long have scientists been searching for a cure for cancer?
->
Okay well i have to do a speech in one of my classes with the topic "Optimism to me is…" and i want to include how people have been fighting cancer….and into that topic. The problem is, I am not sure how long scientist have been searching for cures for cancer. And also, how many false cures have there been in total?
Thank you, and please answer with as much information and as soon as possible.

Cancer is an ancient disease . . bone cancer can even be found in the fossilized remains of ancient human beings. The first written reports refer to breast cancer in Egyptian mummies. So this answer is not as easy as you think . . thousands of years ago it was written that ‘there is no cure’ . . which indicates that early doctors were looking for cures, but found none. You can read about the early history of cancer at the American Cancer society site:

Good luck.
