"April" would know better than anyone, but she only had one type of chemotherapy.
There are many different chemotherapy regimens being tried for brain malignancies because no one has found a particularly effective one yet. Thus many regimens are investigational. The costs vary enormously. You would have to ask the medical oncologist who is planning the specific chemotherapy what the cost is expected to be. He or she probably will not know the cost, but they can find out for you. It is amazing how many of us do not know the costs of the drugs we prescribe. There are no business or finance courses in the 13 years it takes to become a cancer chemotherapy specialist.
It is certainly not cheap. There is not one price list, because the medications are all different and the Dr and Hospitals and Radiology bills are all different. It also depends on what type of cancer it is.
Well chemo for brain cancer is in pill form. While you are having radiation, you will have low dose pills. After radiation you will have high dose pills.. I can’t remember the price on the bottle during the first session, but the higher dose, I had 2 different milligram pills…2 pills of higher mgs, 1 pill of lower mgs, so…the price for 5 days worth for the month ran about 3 grand..
Yes Spree, I have been very lucky so far… oh yeah and "april" is my real name lol
Depends on lots of things, some hospitals are mercy some are for profit. A single shot of Nulasta in Florida cost my insurance two thousand dollars. I moved to Missouri where a single shot was five thousand dollars Cancer is big business.
