How much does eye removal surgery cost for a cat that has been diagnosed with eye cancer?
->
My 8 year old tabby cat has sadly been diagnosed with eye cancer and will have to lose his eye. The veterinarian told my sister the surgery would range from 700 to 1000 dollars! Is this typical? Living in the bay area is pricey but that seems like a lot to remove an eye.

it doesn’t seem that much to me.
that’s sad though. maybe u can do a payment plan. or maybe take out a credit card and pay it off over time. or get a loan. or borrow the money. or maybe see if you can still get some insurance coverage for you kitty.
sorry about your cat though. I spent 5 grand trying to keep my poor kitty alive after she was diagnosed with a heart disease. it practically put me in the poor house. she passed away about 3 weeks after her initial diagnoses. it was sad, but if i thought i could save my kitty i’d spend the money all over again.
good luck to you.
does your cat have insurance. that is a ripoff go to some other vet! good luc sweetie

I hope your cat is doing well now! My cat had her eye removed earlier this year and it cost me about $800. This was in the Richmond, VA area. She is doing great and adjusted very easily to her new one-eyed vision (she had been slowly losing vision in the bad eye for years).
