Any kind of injury to cell genetics could cause the start of a cancer. Radiation can damage the DNA of a cell causing it to multiply rapidly. Most of the time, the body’s defenses can stop cancers. Vitamin D (actually a good hormone) plays and important role in suppressing tumor growth, so it makes sense to get some sunshine on your skin each day because your skin produces this hormone when exposed in sunlight.

Once a cancer starts, its growth can be encouraged by sex and growth hormones. That’s why dairy (bovine growth hormone) consumption is correlated with higher cancer rates.
