Many cancer drugs are linked to diabetes. But on the other hand, you don’t have to have a diabetic history in your family to develop the disease. Many have it and never had it in their family. You don’t have to be overweight either. It could be just a coincidence. Usually for a drug to contribute to the development of diabetes, a person has had a long reqiment of the drugs…..usually at least 2 years. But there are always the exceptions.

    Type 1..?

No one knows the cause of type 1 diabetes. I was 18 when I was diagnosed, and I just caught a common viral infection prior to developing symptoms, it’s not in my family, so my belief is, there are environmental triggers, but again, nobody knows.
