If chemo and radiation did not kill breast cancer the first time, when is it most likely to return?

What I meant to say was If chemo and radiation did not kill breast cancer the first time and you go into remission, is the cancer likely to come back in the first 2 to 3 years after being in remission? How long does cancer return after being in remission for a certain amount of time is what I am asking?

Maybe you’ve worded it oddly, however … I am a Breast Cancer SURVIVOR. I too had both chemo and radiation. I’ve heard that you need to be 5-7 years post-treatment before they will say you are as good as anyone who’d never had the diagnosis. Cancer is made of cells. Cells are extremely small. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation – they all do the best they can. Cells however are so small and so pesky … at any time they can escape into all parts of your body. Sometimes (fingers crossed) they get everything. Sometimes, another attack is needed. Thus … careful watching, significant holding of breath is a realty of many cancer survivor’s lives. I’m heading to year 3 …. 2 more to go. Thus farr, all good. Hope it will be for you as well.
