If I have cancer will I be able to get insurance?
->
I am currently unemployed and uninsured. I recently found a lump that is very concerning that I believe I should have checked out. If I go to a free clinic and it is cancer.. will I be able to get insurance to cover the thousands of medical bills that will begin piling up?

Most people without insurance will not get it if they havebeen diagnosed with cancer. This is the sad truth about corporate insurance companies. Right now, you will end up having to pay some of it off. Possibly a payment plan. Most important thing right now is to go to an emergency room or urgent care center to have it verified as cancer. Once you are there, you will need to take the next steps. Worry about your life and then your finances. If you are cancerous, you will probably end up going bankrupt but in the end it will be worth it if it will save your life. You CAN recover from bankruptcy but not so easily from undiagnosed late stage cancer. Go to the doctor immediately. Go to the hospital of your choice and worry about the cost later. If you need to speak with a social worker, then ask for it. Don’t go in and start talking about not being able to pay. Worry about it later.
i suggest you get a job cuz even with an existing medical condition they can’t deny u medical coverage in a group situation. For example- i have m.s. and i can’t be denied insurance at the place i work even though my m.s. existed when i started work there. Good luck!
No you will not be able to get health or life insurance. I suggest you buy some life insurance before you go to the doctor and find a job. Most companies do accept preexisting conditions….
You’re best hope is to pray you meet the requirements for public insurance (medicaid).
