If you get sick the night after you visit a relative with cancer/chemo is it possible to make them sick?

I sat with my aunt yesterday who has cancer. She is going through chemo. I was fine yesterday and we laughed and talked. Last night around 10:00, I started to feel sick, sore throat, headache, fever. Is it possible that I spread germs to her? I FEEL so afraid that I may have spread germs to her.

I had no idea that anything was even coming on. NO SYMPTOMS, then BAM……..last night it started. I’ve slept all day and fought fever.

Yes, it is possible, but there is no way to be sure.

You didn’t want this sickness any more than she did.

If that happens, it is not your fault. You were an angel to go and visit her, and you made her very happy. Whatever happens with her life at this point is up to God. You are not responsible.

You should contact her doctor to let him/her know. Her immune system is compromised at this point, so if you were infectious she might need attention.

Usually you are only contagious after the fever hits. You really should see a doctor since you have an infection yourself and get that treated and you could ask your doctor.
