Is immunotherapy the way to cure cancer?
->
Wake Forest researchers since 1999 have breed a group of mice called SR/CR that are totally resistant to all cancers tested so far in them. In turn, the white blood cells of these mice were able to cure cancer in other mice simply by infusion of these cells into the mice with cancer. This is called innate immunity.
Now, researchers at Wake forest, Dr Cui have discovered cancer immune humans. This fall they want to transfer the white blood cells of these cancer immune humans into cancer patients to see if their cancers can be cured (just like in the mice). If this works it will be a major breakthrough and a very simply way to cure cancer. Will it work?

The tumor could be benign or malignant. A benign tumor does not spread to other parts of the body, while the malignant tumor would easily metastasize to other places. Conventional cancer treatment of surgery removes the tumor from the organ where it had formed. Then radiation is done to cleanse the organ of any remaining cancer cells. If necessary, these are followed up with hormonal therapy, chemotherapy, or both. In certain cases, immunotherapy is also chosen.
