Is it likely I have cancer?
->
Can I test for cancer at a University Clinic?
I’ve had pain in my sides from the neck down…for quite a while. Sometimes I have lumps in my neck but they shrink and I tend to get a lot of cuts on my fingers,,so perhaps they’re cysts fighting infection.
I’m also really underweight and pale…but I’m asian and a picky eater.
I do have digestion problems..and my aunt had cancer.
Some of my moles and freckles are not black..
Can I test for cancer at a clinic? We don’t have ample money.
How much does it cost to test for cancer?
I’m Uninsured..at the moment.

See your doctor – ask a doctor at the clinic. (Are you a student? – Are you covered by insurance as a student?)
If you in the late teen, early 20′s age group, it is unlikely that you have cancer, although the possibility exists. Your symptoms could be caused by other conditions, too. In general, it is best to get treatment as soon as symptoms emerge, for cancer and many other conditions. A check up will also give you peace of mind, if you have nothing serious.
It isn’t likely you have cancer and your symptoms are not typical of any cancer.
There isn’t a single test for the hundreds of cancers that exist. Just go to the doctor and let them diagnose you and decide what tests you need. It is their job.
If you are not currently covered by insurance I really wouldn’t spend your money on any kind of test at this moment in time. It is always difficult to give answers to these kinds of questions online but from what you are describing, the lumps going down does not indicate any kind of lymph node tumor and these only get bigger, your digestion problems and the fact that you are a picky eater will contribute to being underweight and pale and if your moles and freckles are not of concern then I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
Testing for cancer can be invasive and consist of blood tests and biopsy surgeries which vary in price depending on your state, city and clinic location. I really wouldn’t worry yourself about this.
Like I said answering online is difficult and you are still having concerns by all means visit your clinic and speak to a doctor or nurse there about their opinion, they will not give you any of these tests unless they have solid reason to believe there may be a problem.
I hope this has helped.
