Is it true that cancer patients should not be exposed to too much radiation?
->
is it true they should avoid talking on the phone, text-messaging, watching tv etc.?
this specifically being for patients with leukemia?

Not true – - – at least I have seen no data.
It would be a difficult study to do.
Which cancer patients would be studied?
There are so many different cancer types and treatments.

Oh, I see you do specify leukemia – but not which type of leukemia.
How would you have a control group not exposed to these electronic devices?
You would have to make a group of patients not watch TV or use the phone?
Acute leukemia treatment is a long drawn out process with a lot of waiting around for the normal bone marrow cells to regenerate. I think it would be cruel to take away TV and phone privileges for the weeks or months of hospital time required to gain a remission.

This type of exposure – to TV, cell phones, etc – would usually be the least of worries for someone battling a malignancy. There are much more important factors. Most cancer patients have repeated x-ray studies for diagnosis and follow-up. Even that radiation exposure carries minimal risk in the larger picture. It’s like missing the forest for the trees to worry about this minor risk in the context of a battle with acute leukemia.
Ya, it is true because radiations increases the effects of cancer and reduces the life of an individual.
Radiation as in too many x-rays, etc. Not in all the other mumbo jumbo. Those are urban myths about the cell phone etc.
