Is Romania affected by atomic radiation? Maybe leftovers from Soviet testing that could lead to cancer?

I’m representing Romania for a Model UN conference and writing my position paper on topics for the 4th committee (spec pol). My topics include the condition of palestinian refugees, effects of atomic radiation, and international cooperation in the use of outer space during peace and conflict. Any information you might have with these topics and Romania would be greatly appreciated.

No, Romania is a normal country and the population doesn’t have cancer more than in any other country because of radiation..

Romania was not part of the USSR.

No USSR atomic tests were ever done anywhere near Europe.

Wasn’t Romania a member of the Warsaw Pact:
part of the Soviet "outer empire?"
