I’ve heard that shark cartilage is being studied in the hope of developing anti-cancer drugs. Any thoughts?

It is known that sharks never get cancer.

No serious studies are being conducted on shark cartilage because there is no reason to do so; sharks DO get cancer, but in spite of that, there are enough "suckers" that will buy a book that says they don’t, and ingesting their cartilage will help with cancer! If you think about it, common sense tells you it’s nonsense!

    Hi,

I have a friend who is walking again after having brain cancer for the past 4 years. It was not shark cartilage that helped him though. It was by becoming more alkaline.

I have been doing research, and it seems that Dr. Otto Warburg won a Nobel Prize for his research in how to kill cancer cells and watching their reproduction reduced by exposing the cancer to 8.0 atmosphere.

So I suggest that you google Dr. Otto Warburg

Also google 9.5 PH healthy water cancer cure

    You will get several results.

You might also google high PH therapy kills cancer cells

Powdered shark cartilage has been touted as a cancer cure, especially by William Lane, Ph.D., whose company produces the stuff under the name of BeneFin. Lane has written two books, both with the false claim that sharks don’t get cancer in their title. Sharks do get cancer, even cancer of their cartilage. On June 29, 2000, Lane was prohibited by the Federal Trade Commission from claiming "BeneFin or any other shark cartilage product prevents, treats or cures cancer," until he has substantial evidence to support his claims.
There are no scientific studies done by independent researchers with proper controls which have substantiated the claim that shark cartilage is a useful treatment for cancer. In at least one such study, the treatment was found ineffective.
