lung cancer with brain lesions, radiation has been done?

My dad got diagnosed with lung cancer last year, unfortunately some of the cancer had split off and made its way to the brain. He underwent radiation on his head and has completed numerous rounds of chemo to which the lung cancer has subsided by 25%. However, he is now back in the hospital because he fainted and has more brain lesions. They have put him on steroids to decrease the sweeling, just wondering what the outcome is looking like.

You should have been told that it is not curable at stage 4.
