I am a breast cancer SURVIVOR, too. Had a reoccurrence recently (see my blog on Yahoo 360 for details).

What kind of surgery did you have?

Did you have radiation treatments or just chemo?

Was your cancer ER/PR positive? If so, did your oncologist discuss Tamoxifen with you?

Were you positive for HER2-neu overexpressors?

How long ago was your first diagnosis and surgery???

oh my….i don’t know what to say but if this happens to my mom….i would cry for over 6 hours.

i’m really sorry. pray, pray, & pray. an angel might come to you in your sleep & lift you up with her hand then….voala! you’ll come back alive again.

mann, i should go back reading the bible every night again & follow his commands.

I’m so sorry. You don’t say if this is a recurrence or secondary cancer. There are treatments; recurrence can be treated just as primary cancer can, secondary cancer, depending on its severity and location, can be contained and managed.

You really need to speak to your oncologist; nobody here knows your individual situation and so nobody here can advise you properly.

This really isn’t the place for that information. It depends on where the cancer has returned, local recurrence or metastases? What chemo did you have, there are many, perhaps the type you took was ineffective with the type of cancer you had. Where do you live? Your oncologist is your best source of information and breastcancer.org is one of the best sites I’ve found for information and support. I urge you to go to that site and provide full info, some of women are absolute fonts of knowledge.

    Good luck

My heart goes out to you hunni, this is an evil disease.I would suggest your consultant will be the best person to tell you what other threatments there are available.I hate to say this but if you had a lumpectomy then maybe a full mastectomy is the way to go with this.you can have reconstructive surgery so it will not be very noticable.Don`t give up,try to stay strong and fight it all the way.try anything to stop it,even if you feel rotten while on the treatment,it may just save your life.Push your consultant don`t let him/her fob you off with excuses about why you are not suitable for a treatment ie age or that you have just had one lot of treatment .if it is available then go for it. i wish you all the best and i truly hope you will be telling us soon that you have been successfully treated and the cancer is gone xx

Hopefully your oncologist made it clear to you when you had your original surgery & chemo that a recurrence was a distinct possibility….it only takes a few remaining active cancer cells for a tumor to come right back.

The very wisest thing to do is whatever your oncologist recommends, probably additional chemo to target the remaining cancer cells.

Sorry you have to go through this, but don’t let a little bad news fog your common sense…if there were other treatments that actually worked, they wouldn’t be "alternative", would they?

    Best wishes…

    Hi Hobo,

It’s good to see so many kind thoughts directed your way. What I’m hearing is that you want a solution for your situation as well.

I had Stage 4 cancer nine years ago. I got rid of it in two weeks! what is cool is that a year or so ago, UCLA studied one of the three things I used and shrank tumors 80% just with that one thing. I used three things, so my way is better.

    Here is what I did:

Grate one or two habeneros peppers and put it on a piece of bread.

Grate one or two cloves of garlic and put it on the bread.

Smother the bread with butter (not margerine.)

    Eat it.

I also took a tablespoon or two of emulsified cod liver oil each day (made by Twin lab.) because I wasn’t losing any weight and I had no fluid retention. If I’d been losig weight or had fluid retention, I would have used evening primrose oil instead of the emulsified cod liver oil.

My visible tumors went away in less than a week. A few came back after I stopped. So I did it again, and the tumors went away again. After the second time, I continued with the oil for six months.

You can access these treatments by going to your grocery store for the herbs and a health food store for the oils.

    The best to you.

    Kelley
