Someone I know has brain cancer and on chemo and they still go out. Does this mean that it's not that serious?

I heard someone I know has brain cancer. I know they do. They still go out to clubs and date and everything else. They’re on chemo. Now they always wear glasses and something looks wrong with one of their eyes like one of their eyes looks very weak and they wear glasses all the time now. Does this mean that their brain cancer isn’t that bad?

It is hard to say. I don’t really know what you mean by "their brain cancer isn’t that bad." I don’t think brain cancer is ever a good thing. If you want to know if it is deadly or not, you probably can’t tell by the way they look or act. The person may have a milder case, but not necessarily. They could just be determined to enjoy what time they have left. Or it could still be an aggressive cancer and an aggressive treatment, but for some reason they are not having a lot of side effects from treatment, and still feel well enough to go out. You don’t really know the situation. Most people agree though that if a person with cancer keeps a positive attitude, then it will help with their healing. It is good that this person is going out and enjoying themselves.
I have migraines, and I often try to hide how badly I am feeling. A lot of times people do not even know that I am sick. But that doesn’t mean that I am not. Please try to remember this. Things are not always as they appear. (Btw, I am not comparing migraines to cancer, I am just using it as an example.)
I would say if you want to know how he/she is doing just ask. Say something like, "Hi. You look like you’re having fun! Are you feeling any better?" Or something like that (if the cancer isn’t a secret). Maybe it will start a conversation, and then you can ask a few more questions.
no, it means that they are not letting the cancer hold them back or stop them from doing what they enjoy. it could also mean that if it is terminal (that they are going to die from the cancer because there is nothing medically that can be done to stop it or cure it), that they are making sure they enjoy what time they have left to live.
Well I’m in the same boat As your friend but she could possibly be just trying to live life to the fullest because it’s serious and that sounds like a sign that it’s going pretty bad or her body is rejecting the chemo either way if you have brain cancer it’s serious hope I answered your question
No, it just means that they are able to function in that manner regardless of the Chemo. I don’t know the particulars of this cancer so I can only say yes or no based on the info given. I would venture to say that all cancer is bad and that having it in the brain is worse but I guess that all depends on weather or not you are the one suffering from it. I wish them the best.
