What if the cancer does not respond to chemo ?
->
What if chemo and radiation do not work ?
Then what do you do?
The cancer cells pump the chemo out
and repair the radiation damage?

this question is very difficult to answer because it would differ according to each patient. There are drugs besides chemotherapy and these might be explored. I have a friend with developed ovarian cancer who flies to germany from ireland to have a kind of immuno treatment. They induce a very high fever in the hope that it will kick her immune system into overdrive. People can also look into natural and homeopathic remedies.
there are many, many options but if all failed palliative measures would be taken.
hope this helps
You could try mangosteen juice, it may help.
Chemo & radiation do not act in the same way. Radiation can be (in general) like a strong beam of energy pointed at say a tumor at the base of the lung. The tumor may be small & the beam of radiation will "burn" the cancer cells & destroy them.Chemo is a "poison" which is "attracted" to certain cells, like lung tissue & will destroy cells when it is given.In both of these cases too much radiation or too much chemo can kill both cancer & healthy cells. Doctors have to maintain that balance between these & often they will do both radiation & chemo in the same patient. Often chemo & radiation have to be stopped before they cause more damage than help which is why doctors do lab work routinely on their patients.
