What to give someone who just diagnosed with cancer?
->
I have a friend, more like an older co-worker, whose mother, also a friend, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I want to give both of them something, but don’t quite know what to give. I already have a card, but I feel like I should give them something more as they have done so much for me.
Any suggestions?

My favorite thing I received was a journal. My mom and I both kept a journal and I am so glad that I did. My mom let me read her journal not long ago and there were so many things that I had completely forgotten. I’m so appreciative to the person who thought of that idea.
Another great thought is something cuddly, even a teddy bear. Regardless of age, it’s always make you feel better to have something soft to cuddle even if it is just a blanket. I had a teddy bear and loved it.
Most of all, the best gift you can give is just being there for both of them.
God Bless!
I am not sure what you would give the daughter but for the mom….some nice slippers, a soft bathrobe, if she likes to read, a good book, even a meal or dessert is nice.
You could also make her a gift basket with all kinds of bath items in it, along with some candles, this would also be a good gift for the daughter.
for the patient i’d suggest a soft comforting blanket that’s what i got my mom & she said it was the best for when she had treatments also for the daughter i’d get her something relaxing because she’ll prob be busy caring for her mother
cancer will omitt only when turtle soup man or women drink its really very hard but life only for gave one time.
God will help you and your family.
My doctor gave me a very helpful book when I was diagnosed in February:The Breast Cancer Survival Manual by Dr. John Link. It is very no nonsense and really highlights all the great advances that have been made in treatment recently.
When I was diagnosed last year and was going through chemo, a friend gave me a super soft throw blanket and that was my favorite thing I got.
Also, you can go to thelydiaproject.org and request a handmade tote be mailed to them.

Continue to be a friend, be there for them, all of my friends never called or came by to see me when I was going through all the radiation and chemo. Keep them smiling, they’re going to need it. Stop by once in a while with some lunch or dinner. It’s a nice touch. I got through alot of my chemo by drinking hot tea, it’s very soothing. I had apple cinnamon, orange, chamomile. It helped to sooth my stomach. You must be a very special person to care so much, God bless you.
