Cancer Cure - January 4th, 2010 - 12 Comments
Why are scientists taken a long time to find a cure to Cancer?
i know that scientist’s are busy, but they should concentrate on more bigger things such as finding a cure to Cancer, i just get sick and tired of someone on the news dieing from Cancer, either they find a cure ASAP or just don’t bother. Any scientist that is reading this, i want you to read this "Find the weakness for the Cancer first and then take it from there" that should help you for a start.

People are cured of cancer every day. First of all, cancer is a group of distinct diseases that cause mutation of cells. Where these cell mutations originate determine what type of disease it is. Many of these diseases can be cured, or put into a long term remission, with current treatment methods. As with most diseases, cancer or otherwise, the earlier it is detected the better the chance of survival. So the first responsibility is with each individual. Don’t ignore early warning signs, go to a doctor and have symptoms checked out quickly instead of posting dumb "do you think i might have cancer?" questions on YA.
Research and development for the cancers that are resistant to current treatments are ongoing, but require a great deal of funding, and are a long painstaking process. Your "find a cure ASAP or just don’t bother." statement shows an extreme amount of ignorance on your part.
okay,. YOU DO IT THEN
basically because there is no such thing as "cancer" because each tumor is different. each person is affected differently each person responds to treatment differently.
Its like saying why havnt we found a piece of music everyone likes. We cant because no piece of music pleases everyone.
The human body is an extremely complicated and delicate matter. Scientists are going as fast as they can in finding a cure, and posting questions on Y!A telling them to hurry up won’t help.
Chances are, they already thought of trying to use cancer’s weakness against it. I mean, it’s their job. They probably know how to do it.
its very hard. you have to test medicines on the virus and see what kills it. its not that they’re not trying, its that its really hard to cure something like that
people on the news? dying from cancer? that’s newsworthy where you live?
you’re ignorant and uninformed. read something.
You don’t get it do you?
Thousands of scientists are trying as we speak to find a cure for cancer. A cancer groups cells, its incredibly difficult to kill a cancer and not kill the other cells. In addition to this, it’s very hard to completely kill a cancer and get rid of everything about it without it growing back.
If you think it’s so easy, then how about you get up and do it then.
At first, I looked at your question and almost passed by-but, having 2 very close members of my family had cancer, I decided to give you my opinion, and that is all this is-my opinion.
Watching both my father, then exactly 2 years after he was diagnosed, then my middles son, 26 at the time of his diagnosis-being both treated and operated on at one of US best hospitals-I begin to wonder. And get angry as well-knowing that the CDC probably has the cure for everything-I got angrier. Why my family-poor gene pool? Is that why my son got brain cancer as well? I passed that gene onto him-can you imagine how that made ME feel? I didn’t do anything but pray- and be there for my mom as we watched by father deteriorate to his ultimate death in March of 2006-both he and my sons surgeries occurred a few days before Christmas-same hospital- talk about deja vue or what.
So time goes on-my son has his two year check up on the 11th of this month- and here i sit-wondering why the government won’t allow certain doctors the rights to proceed with certain cancer programs-
I know this sounds very very selfish of me-and I realize that others have been through similar situations as me-but I really have to wonder about our country-
Sorry for blithering-I am sure this isn’t what you were looking for but, I had to put my two cents in. Thanks~ Lisa
Because we are not the masters of this universe. You may have the perception that we are, but you would be sadly mistaken. The more that you learn in life, the more you will be made aware of just how much more there is to be learned. You will see that man’s knowledge is constantly growing, but if you look at the vastness of the universe and compare it to what we know, you will realize that we are infants here with much to learn. We can’t even get along without killing each other. Sometimes there are things in life that man can not control. They have been trying to cure cancer for years. Things like that don’t come easy. Many scientists would be offended by your question, the ones who have made curing cancer their live’s work. Maybe you should become a scientist and cure cancer, good luck.
There are many ideas being researched that are leading to a cure. For example, there is this magnetic technology where they inject you with copper particles and then put you into a magnetic field. Because of the field, the copper heats up and kills the cancerous cells. But this technique only works on tumors, and not advanced cancer.
You have been misled by someone about what "cancer" actually is.
It is not a single disease with a single specific cause, it is a category of diseases, and many of them do have succesful treatments available…
Your question is a bit like asking "Why haven’t they found a cure for injuries yet?", or "Why can’t scientists stop infectious disease?".
