Would having had cancer disqualify me for the military? Even after I have been through chemo etc?

I want to join the military, but I am currently under going chemo and radiation for stage 4 breast cancer. When I am done I will be back in the gym beefing up to join the military. Will I still be able to join or will it disqualify me for a medical condition?

you must be cancer free for FIVE years before a waiver is considered. at Stage 4 your chances are negligible even after the 5 years are up.

It shouldnt stop you as long as you are healthy now

I suggest you speak to a recruiter about it. Air Force is downsizing so they are more picky and medically disqualify more people. Army takes just about anyone they can get. Navy is prob close to Army, especially if you want to join the Marines.

Hello. Sorry for that! I think You would have to wait for all to be over and then try. I dont think you would qualify, i have seen them not take people of minor things. But just to be sure talk to a recruiter.

Good luck! Wish you the best
